The 38-year-old arrived back at the high-security prison just before 2.30pm today, after making the five-hour trip, a Corrective Services spokeswoman said.

Maybe he is/was a government/enemy sleeper agent who got bored? That would explain his proficiency with living off the land, evading capture, use of small arms and ability to obtain weapons.

Either way speculating on these things can get you disappeared. So I would stop right now.

ACCUSED killer Malcolm Naden has been ordered to enter a plea to charges of aggrevated sexual assault.

The charges relate to two counts of alleged sexual assault on a 15-year-old female in 2005.

Central Local Court heard was told today the brief in relation to the alleged attack was complete

Naden has also been charged with the murder of Kristy Scholes , a number of break and enters and intent to murder a police officer at Nowendoc on December 7 last year.

The 38-year-old former abattoir worker remains in custody at Goulburn supermax prison and did not appear during the brief mention in Sydney's Central Local Court.
He was captured on March 22 in a remote area west of Gloucester in the Upper Hunter region of NSW after being on the run for seven years.

Other charges against him are also listed to be mentioned again on August 7.

He had been on the run from police since 2005.

Magistrate Clare Farnan told Naden’s lawyer Andrew Wright his client would have to enter a plea on August 7 only to the sexual assault matters.

No pleas have been entered in relation to the other charges.

FORMER bush fugitive and accused murderer Malcolm Naden stole toothbrushes, binoculars, beer and nuts from homes he broke into while he was on the run, court documents allege.

Naden, 38, is charged with 13 break-and-enter offences and one of entering a dwelling that allegedly occurred between 2007 and 2012.

His matter came before Central Local Court on Thursday but Naden, who is yet to enter a plea on a range of charges, did not appear.

Police allege that while breaking into rural properties he stole thousands of items of food and clothing, as well as several weapons.

The missing items included more than 60 bottles of beer, toothbrushes and 5kg of raw cashews.

Property owners also reported six pairs of binoculars, a semi-automatic rifle, knives and a solar-powered radio were stolen.

Talcum powder, a purple doona, a pair of sheepskin boots, a mirror and a book titled Dreams also disappeared.

The former abattoir worker was captured on March 22 in a remote area of Gloucester in the Upper Hunter region.

He had been on the run from police since 2005.

Naden has also been charged with the 2005 murder of Kristy Scholes and two counts of aggravated indecent assault on a 12-year-old girl.

He was also charged with the attempted murder of a police officer at Nowendoc on December 7, 2011.

Police also suspected he was involved in the disappearance of his cousin, Lateesha Nolan, who went missing before Naden disappeared in 2005.

Magistrate Clare Farnan adjourned Thursday's matter to the same court on August 7, when Naden is expected to enter a plea to the indecent assault charges.

A magistrate has told a Sydney court that accused killer and former fugitive Malcolm Naden must enter a plea to sexual assault charges.

Naden is in custody at Goulburn's super-maximum security prison and did not appear when his case was mentioned in Central Local Court this morning.

But the magistrate told Naden's lawyer that his client will be required to enter a plea to two sexual assault charges when his case comes up again in August.

The 38-year-old is facing two counts of aggravated indecent assault over an alleged attack on a 15-year-old girl in Dubbo in 2004.

Naden was caught in March west of Gloucester in the Upper Hunter region of New South Wales after a massive police manhunt.

The former abattoir worker had been on the run for seven years.

Naden is also charged with the 2005 murder of Dubbo woman Kristy Scholes, a number of break and enters and the attempted murder of a policeman who was shot during an attempt to capture him at Nowendoc in December last year.

He has not entered a plea to those charges.

Court papers also show that between 2007 and 2012 Naden is accused of stealing food, weapons and clothing.

The items allegedly include toothbrushes, 60 bottles of beer, bags of cashews, binoculars, a semi-automatic rifle, knives, a radio, doona, sheepskin boots, and a book titled Dreams.

Police have also questioned him over the disappearance of his cousin Lateesha Nolan from Dubbo, but he has not been charged over her disappearance.

CAPTURED fugitive Malcolm Naden is on suicide watch and has been moved out of Supermax amid fears he is at serious risk of trying to kill himself in jail.

The Sunday Telegraph has confirmed that Naden, 38, who spent a marathon seven years on the run avoiding arrest, has been moved to Sydney's Long Bay Jail for treatment due to the concerns.

Conditions in Goulburn's Supermax, described as the harshest in NSW, were said to be too much for the accused murderer, who has made it clear he is struggling with life behind bars.

At the time of his capture on March 22, he expressed his relief to arresting officers that the manhunt was finally over.

He has spent the past three weeks inside NSW Corrective Services Acute Crisis Management Unit (ACMU) at Malabar, and is expected to remain in there for several more weeks.

"Security surrounding Naden has not been relaxed in any way - he is under constant supervision and he is expected to be transferred back to Supermax shortly," a Corrective Services spokeswoman said.

The ACMU manages a handful of inmates at any one time who are at high-risk of committing self-harm or showing suicidal tendencies."He's not coping very well," a source told The Sunday Telegraph. "From time to time he was alright (at Supermax), but he's not doing too well at the moment."

Conditions at Supermax - famously known as a jail-within-a-jail - have seen Naden locked inside a cell for 21 hours a day, a stark contrast to his years on the run in the bush. His only access to fresh air is through a small exercise yard attached to his segregated cells.

Since being captured, Naden has been assisting authorities with their search for the body of his missing cousin Lateesha Nolan.

Detectives have made a number of visits to him in jail and on most occasions he has agreed to speak with them.

In April, he was temporarily transported from the Supermax jail up to Butler Falls, south of Dubbo, to help detectives in their effort to find Ms Nolan's remains. Her body has still not been recovered.

Police have laid a number of charges against him, including the 2005 murder of 24-year-old Kristy Scholes, two counts of aggravated indecent assault on a 15-year-old girl in Dubbo, and shoot with intent to murder a police officer at Nowendoc on December 7, 2011.

His case will return to court in August.

rss Naden charged with cousin's murder

CAPTURED fugitive Malcolm Naden has been charged with a second murder - the alleged slaying of his cousin Lateesha Nolan in January 2005.

Sydney's Central Local Court also heard today that Mr Naden, who appeared shaven-headed and draped in a long orange prison jumpsuit, was suffering “a significant mental health issue” and was therefore unfit to enter any pleas.

Mr Naden was captured in March following seven years on the run.

He has previously been charged with the 2005 murder of another cousin, 24-year-old Kristy Scholes, who was found strangled in Dubbo, in NSW's central west.

He now also faces committal for the murder of Ms Nolan, who was last seen in January 2005.

“We formed the view that we had sufficient evidence to lay the charge and proceeded to do so today,” a NSW police spokesman said outside court.
