A federal grand jury in the United States has indicted Joran Van der Sloot for wire fraud and extortion charges in connection with his attempt to sell information about the location of Natalee Holloway's remains in exchange for $250,000. The indictment said that Van der Sloot tried to exploit "Beth Holloway's fear that she would never find her daughter's body or know what happened to her."
