A Canberra father has admitted to having sex with his young daughter in the family lounge room in a disturbing case of sexual abuse that spanned a decade.
The 44-year-old man — who cannot be named — has also admitted to molesting his other daughter when she went to give him a hug.
The Canberra Times reports the man has pleaded guilty to incest and six other charges after the girls gave evidence in the Canberra Supreme Court yesterday.
Court documents reveal the abuse took place between the end of 1997 until 2008, when the girls were aged between five and 11.
The man admitted to performing oral sex on his eldest daughter when she was just five or six as well as having sex with her in the lounge room when she was aged between seven and 11.
He also performed an act of indecency when she was 10 or 11 as they sat together on a lounge while other family members were in another room.
Three years later, he sexually abused his other daughter when she went to give him a hug. She was aged between 11 and 12.
The girl told police it was one of up to 50 similar incidents.
The man has also pleaded guilty to commiting an act of indecency on the girl when she was in bed.
It is alleged the man told the girl not to tell her mother but stopped after his eldest daughter walked in.
