Sydney home sprayed with bullets
A woman and her two children have escaped injury after their house was sprayed with bullets at Ryde in Sydney's north-west overnight.
Police say about 20 shots were fired into the house on Santa Rosa Avenue about 11.30pm (AEDT) on Sunday.
The 35-year-old woman and her two sons, aged 11 and 15, were inside at the time but no-one was injured.
Inspector Jason Reimer says the family is shaken.
"They've got to consider themselves lucky to be alive considering a number of shots were being put into the house," he said.
Several cars outside were also sprayed with bullets, including a Mercedes and a Range Rover.
The cars have been taken by police for examination.
Witnesses say they saw a silver-coloured hatchback drive off just after the shooting.
