A DAVOREN Park man, 29, has been arrested after he stabbed a man then allegedly returned and fired a shot.

The dispute started about 9.40pm when a man was stabbed in the back of the head at a Charmouth St address.

The man knew his attackers and his injuries were not life threatening.

He was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital.

Police said a man allegedly involved in the stabbing returned to Charmouth St and threatened two men who were not involved in the earlier incident but were in the front yard of the house.

He allegedly pointed a firearm at the two men and threatened them, then fireD a shot as he walked from the premises.

Police found the man at an Elizabeth South address and charged him with aggravated assault and threatening life.

"He has been remanded in police custody and is expected to face the Elizabeth Magistrates Court later today," a police spokesman said.

The spokesman reassured the public that both attacks were not random.

"The people involved in both disputes are all known to each other and the assaults were not directed at members of the general public."
