    Dear Doc,
Thanks so much for your warm welcome. I am really happy to have become a member of the site and know that I will use it often as a teaching resource for my students. Still very confused as to how to navigate effectively - but will try and work it out.
I need a lesson plan for a group of 15 year olds - a crime story, arrest, court trial, verdict etc. I have taught them the basic vocabulary and they have asked for a more specific case study. I don't want a brutal murder or anything gory - possibly a famous jewel heist, fraud, or the like. i would like to use this both as a reading comprehension and discussion.
If you have any suggestions, I would be so grateful.
Looking forward to hearing from you
    regards
    nita

I see that you have NCMEC, the Doe Network, and NecroSearch listed as links. Did you get the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification? It is a DNA/Missing Person initiative. It is free to law enforcement agencies. It is funded by NIJ.

UNT takes family reference samples/DNA buccal swabs and obtains a DNA profile which they upload into CODIS.

UNT takes unidentified human remains UNR from agencies/medical examiner's and develop a DNA profile which they upload into CODIS.

Hopefully they get a CODIS hit and then the missing person/homicide investigation begins.

UNT also provides support with Forensic Antropologists & training.

They are a great law enforcement resource and they are free! . . . to law enforcement agencies.
