Arrests
A Talbot Avenue man, 46, was charged with kidnapping, domestic violence, assault and felonious assault. He is accused of attacking a man who was visiting a neighboring house. The victim was assaulted until he was unconscious and bleeding. The suspect is accused of taking the victim to his home and then with the help of another person, loading him into his vehicle and driving away.
In relation to this incident, an Albrecht Avenue woman, 32, was charged with tampering with evidence and obstructing official business. Police allege that the victim was taken to the woman’s home and left on her couch with a change of clothes. The woman is accused of washing the man’s clothes and steam-cleaning her couch. She denied both actions, said she knew nothing of the man’s injuries and said he showed up at her home alone.
A Callis Drive man, 25, was charged with possessing weapons illegally, carrying a concealed weapon and obstructing official business. Police said officers were called to an Allyn Street home because of a man swinging a bat and yelling in the front yard. When officers arrived, the man started walking up the street. Police stopped him when they discovered a warrant for his arrest. Police said he also had a gun.
A Davies Avenue man, 22, was charged with aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery. He is accused of entering a home and taking a laptop and credit cards. The cards were used at three stores at the Arlington Plaza.
A Beechwood Avenue man, 50, was charged with breaking and entering and criminal damage. He is accused of breaking into a shed at a Columbia Avenue residence and an RV on Lucille Avenue.
A Dominion Drive man, 55, was charged with possessing weapons.
A Chalker Street woman, 32, was charged with felonious assault, robbery and abduction. She and two other people are accused of holding another woman against her will at a location on Biruta Street. The woman was assaulted, suffering bruises over most of the her body and a broken rib.
A Greenwood Avenue man, 51, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drugs during a traffic stop on Greenwood Avenue.
A Ninth Avenue man, 25, was charged with the burglary of a Pondview Avenue residence.
A Roger Avenue man, 28, was charged with assaulting a paramedic while being taken to St. Thomas Hospital by American Medical Response.
A Hillcrest Street man, 20, was charged with breaking and entering. The man is accused of kicking in the rear door of an East South Street apartment and stealing drugs.
A Chalker Street woman, 39, was charged with domestic violence and domestic violence menacing.
A Bank Street man, 18, was charged with disrupting public service, domestic violence and theft. Police said the dispute was over a cell-phone bill.
A Lucy Street man, 43, was charged with domestic violence and disorderly conduct intoxication.
A Wildwood Avenue man, 24, was charged with domestic violence and domestic violence menacing.
An 11th Street Southwest woman, 33, was charged with domestic violence.

Someone entered two vehicles in a Normandy Circle garage Aug. 29 and stole cash, jewelry and other items worth a total of $605.
Cash, jewelry and other items worth a total of $6,210 were taken from a 31st Street Southwest home Aug. 28.
A PlayStation system, a computer tablet and headphones worth a total of $949 were reported stolen Aug. 27 from a South Van Buren Avenue home.
Theft

Jewelry valued at $700 was reported missing from an East Robinson Avenue home after an acquaintance had left Aug. 29.
Two students at Barberton High School notified the school office that their cell phones, worth a total of $600, and other items were taken from the gym locker room Aug. 29.
Jewelry and other items worth a total of $1,781 were reported stolen Aug. 28 from a Fifth Street Southeast woman’s apartment.

Theft
A wedding band and engagement ring were reported missing Aug. 15 from the room of 77-year-old woman in a Cleveland-Massillon Road center. The woman’s daughter made a police report Aug. 28 when the rings did not turn up.
Copley Township
Arrest
A Wadsworth woman, 26, was accused of driving under the influence Aug. 28. She was pulled over after an off-duty officer believed she was driving in an erratic manner. The officer reported seeing drug paraphernalia on the floor of the vehicle during the traffic stop.
Assault
An Akron woman, 53, told police her two nieces assaulted her Aug. 28. She said they started belly-bumping her during an argument. The nieces deny the accusation.
Coventry Township
Arrests
A Pond View Drive woman, 25, was jailed after she was accused of endangering children. Three toddlers, ages 4, 1 and 2 months, were found in the back seat of a car in the 1600 block of South Arlington Road on Aug. 27.
An 18-year-old Portage Point Drive resident was summoned to Barberton Municipal Court, accused of telephone harassment of a 16-year-old boy via Twitter on Aug. 26.
Cuyahoga Falls
Arrests
A 37-year-old Second Street man was charged Sept. 2 with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.
A 25-year-old Akron man was charged Sept. 1 with assault. He is accused of striking a 43-year-old man in the face while in the 2000 block of Front Street.
A 43-year-old Clyde Avenue woman was charged Sept. 5 with domestic violence. She is accused of throwing a cell phone at her ex-husband and elbowing him in the jaw.
Burglaries
Someone entered a Winter Parkway apartment through an unlocked patio door Sept. 1 and took $700 from a purse. The resident was asleep at the time.
Someone broke into a home in the 2300 block of 27th Street on Sept. 5 and took medication, a wedding band and other items.
Forgery
A Hanover Street woman reported Sept. 3 that someone used her checking account information to withdraw more than $500.
Passing bad checks
Someone deposited three checks in a new account at Falls Catholic Credit Union, 33 Graham Road, on May 21, then immediately withdrew the money. On Aug. 29, a credit union employee reported the customer had written the checks, for a total of $1,295, on a closed account.
Public indecency
A 25-year-old Tallmadge Road woman reported Sept. 5 that she was parked in a lot in the 1000 block of Tallmadge Road when a man approached the driver’s door and exposed his genitals. The man left when she yelled.
Robbery
A man wearing a mask gave an employee of Subway, 4041 State Road, a note demanding money on Aug. 30. The man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Thefts
Several vehicles were broken into between Aug. 31 and Sept. 6. Credit cards and a cell phone were among the items taken.
Tools valued at $900 were taken from a garage in the 1100 block of Silver Lake Boulevard on Sept. 6.
A Pennsylvania man reported Sept. 1 that his vehicle was stolen from a Pennsylvania campsite. He told police that while searching Craigslist.com, he found his vehicle listed for sale. The vehicle was towed from the 900 block of Tallmadge Road pending an investigation.
An Elmwood Street man reported Aug. 31 that items worth nearly $4,000 have disappeared from his home in the past month.
Bicycles were stolen from three homes in the 2900 block of 13th Street Sept. 3
A Sixth Street man reported Aug. 31 that someone used his bank account number to make more than $400 in fraudulent purchases.
Vandalism
A man broke a window at Sheetz, 1210 Main St., by punching it on Sept. 1. He then fled.

Arrest
An Akron woman, 18, was arrested Sept. 1 after she was accused of trying to steal $140.44 worth of merchandise from Target on West Market Street. She has been banned from Target indefinitely.
Thefts
A Wal-Mart employee told police that an Akron man, 52, tried to buy a money order with a counterfeit $20 bill on Sept. 3. The man said he received the bill from Tito’s Mexican Grill, where he works. The bill was confiscated, tagged and placed into evidence.
A Parkhill Drive woman, 49, told police Sept. 1 that someone had stolen a $1,000 ring from her home. She believes only two people could have been responsible because they are the only ones who know where she keeps her jewelry.
A Hampshire Road woman, 16, told police Sept. 1 that someone broke into her unlocked car and stole a GPS unit worth $299.
A Pet Supplies Plus employee told police Sept. 1 that a customer quick- changed her for $20.

Misuse of a credit card
A Canterbury Drive man reported Aug. 28 that someone used his credit- card information to make fraudulent purchases of more than $1,000.

Arrests
A 45-year-old Renninger Road man was jailed in a felony domestic violence case Aug. 20 after his wife said he grabbed her by her head and threw her face-first into a glass door. He said he and his spouse were cut when he slammed the door and the glass broke.
A felony domestic violence charge was lodged against a Rawlins Avenue man, 34, who is accused of throwing a female to the ground and breaking a phone during an argument Aug. 20.
Forgery
Police were advised Aug. 21 that six counterfeit $100 bills and a $50 bill were found at a Melton Avenue home after the eviction of a female tenant. The Secret Service and police are investigating.
Breaking and entering
Seven chain saws worth a total of $3,537 were reported stolen Aug. 23 from a truck belonging to the Wood Guy business on Cleveland Massillon Road.

A 17-year-old Brookfield Drive boy was charged Aug. 31 with drug abuse. He is accused of possessing a morphine pill at the high school football game.

An 18-year-old Hudson Drive man and an 18-year-old Kenneth Road man were charged Sept. 5 with possession of ecstasy. The Kenneth Road man also was charged with trafficking in drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A 38-year-old California woman was arrested Aug. 31 on a charge of trafficking drugs.
Breaking and entering
Someone broke into a business in the 2200 block of Graham Road on Sept. 2.
Forgery
An Akron woman reported someone forged and cashed a check from her account at a Steels Corners Road gas station.
Patient abuse
Police are investigating a complaint of patient abuse involving a 50-year-old man in a group home in Stow.

A 31-year-old Southeast Avenue man was charged Sept. 5 with possession of chemicals used to make drugs. The items were found during a traffic stop on Osceola Avenue.
A 27-year-old Cedarcrest man was charged Aug. 30 with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to control. He is accused of speeding through front yards in the area of Sunsetview Boulevard. His mother had called 911 and said her son had overdosed on pills. The man was taken to a local hospital.
A 33-year-old South Thomas Road man was charged Aug. 30 with possession of marijuana. Police checking on the welfare of two juveniles in the home said a bag of marijuana was found on a table on the porch. The suspect was accused of grinding marijuana on a coffee table inside the home.

A plasma television and diamond earrings were among the items taken from an apartment in the 1400 block of Brittain Circle on Sept. 4.
Electronic items were taken from an apartment in the 500 block of West Avenue on Sept. 4.
Thefts
A 2002 Ford Explorer was stolen in the 400 block of West Avenue on Sept. 4. The vehicle was recovered in Akron after it was set on fire and abandoned.
A South Avenue woman reported Sept. 1 that someone used her bank account for two unauthorized transactions for a total of $2,000.

An 18-year-old Deepwood Drive man was arrested at his home Sept. 5 on a probation violation warrant.
A 35-year-old Broad Street man was charged Sept. 5 with domestic violence. He is accused of assaulting his wife.

Someone took $2,000 from a lock box in a building at Muhl Field, 390 Trease Road. The theft was discovered Sept. 2.

A 21-year-old Silver Meadows Boulevard man was charged Sept. 5 with violating a protection order, domestic violence and resisting arrest.
A 21-year-old Hudson man was charged Aug. 31 with sexual battery.

A 31-year-old South Water Street man was charged Sept. 4 with domestic violence.

Arrests
Charges of domestic violence, resisting arrest and obstructing official business were filed against a Kipling Avenue Northwest woman, 41, on Aug. 29. She is accused of punching her boyfriend in the face several times.
A 25-year-old man from Standish Avenue Southwest, Canton, was jailed Aug. 28, accused of for burglary, resisting arrest and criminal damaging, after someone broke into a Knight Street Northwest home and stole alcohol. The resident locked herself in the bathroom with her computer. Police found the suspect hiding near the victim’s backyard after a chase.
A Yorkshire Street Northwest man, 41, was jailed in domestic violence case Aug. 26, accused of putting his hands around a stepson’s neck and wrestling the teen to the ground.
A Hills and Dales Road Northwest man, 24, turned himself in to police Aug. 22 on a warrant charging domestic violence. He is accused of throwing his girlfriend onto a couch, threatening to break her wrist and punching her in the face.
A Jackson police warrant for felonious assault led to the arrest by Massillon police of a 23-year-old man from Main Avenue West, Massillon.
Robbery
A bandit got away with less than $100 Aug. 28 during a robbery at the Circle K convenience store on Portage Street Northwest. Police said the robber ran west on Portage.
Thefts
A $2,800 diamond ring belonging to a Norton Canton woman was reported stolen Aug. 28 from her locker at Planet Fitness on Whipple Avenue Northwest.
Two generators worth a total of $500 were reported stolen Aug. 23 from a storage room at ResCare on Whipple Avenue Northwest.
North Canton
Arrests
A 41-year-old man from Northstar Avenue Northeast, Alliance, was jailed Aug. 30 on a warrant charging him with breaking and entering and theft.
A 58-year-old man from Walnut Avenue Northeast, Canton, was jailed in a domestic violence case. The suspect is accused of trying to choke his girlfriend while walking in the 600 block of Everhard Road Southwest on Aug. 24.
A 26-year-old man from East Lisbon Street, East Canton, was jailed after he was accused domestic violence and disrupting public services at a Schneider Street Southeast home. Police said one victim was pulled out of bed and another was grabbed by the throat and pushed against a dresser. Her phone also was taken.
Aggravated burglary
A $600 handgun was reported taken from a Viking Street Northwest garage Sept. 25.
Identity fraud
A North Canton resident told police Aug. 20 that someone used her personal information to charge $1,210 on her debit card without her permission.
Theft
Two air-conditioning units, worth a total of $1,000, were stolen Aug. 18 from the Dayspring Family Church on Portage Street Northwest.

A 48-year-old Middlebranch Avenue Northeast man was jailed Aug. 26 on a felony domestic violence charge. His wife said he grabbed her hair and punched her in the face.
