Conn. Man, Wife Found Dead After Frantic 911 Call
Police are investigating a murder-suicide at a Connecticut home that involved gunfire following a frantic 911 call from a woman inside.
Police received a report about a domestic disturbance call just before midnight Sunday from a woman who told police two children were inside the house in Vernon, Sgt. William Meier said. She then began screaming.
Alice Morrin (Nick Caito Fox 61)
Meier says police arriving at the scene heard several gun shots and rushed to the home quickly. Police used a battering ram to force their way in and two girls, aged 9 and 15, were found safe.
Meier says police found a man and a woman dead of gunshot wounds inside. They've identified them as 43-year-old Alice Morrin and her 45-year-old husband James Morrin.
Alice Morrin worked as an assignment editor at local FOX affiliate FOX 61 and had recently been promoted to executive assistant to Hartford Courant publisher and FOX 61 general manager Richard Graziano. James Morrin worked for the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
Autopsies are being scheduled.

The following is from the staff of Fox61 Connecticut where Alice Morrin worked
Remembering Our Friend Alice
Alice Morrin worked on our Assignment Desk for 3 years. She would talk to people all over to set up stories for the Fox 61 News crews to cover. She talked to so many people over that time and we wanted to give people who may have been touched by her a place to share a memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Morrin Education Fund, c/o Rockville Bank, 1645 Ellington Rd, South Windsor, CT 06074, to help her 2 daughters.

Fox, you guys have the tools and voice to honor your dear friend. Lets group together and make the Alice Law that will alway people to text 911 dispatchers. I can't help but wonder; if she was able to do so; would she be alive?

All I ask is that everyone pays tribute to her and takes a chance to acknowledge that she was a wonderful woman. Her kids were always before herself and that just shows how welcoming and caring she really was. God bless you all.

She was the nicest person to everyone at the gym; she would help put people's stuff away even though it was not hers! Her energy and spirit will be missed by all. I hope that her story will empower someone in an abusive relationship to get help before it is too late.
