The Criminal Mind

Inside The Criminal Mind

Yes I know it is the name of a TV show, I love it and if you are reading this you probably do as well?

Everything related to a crime starts as a thought in a Criminal Mind.

Why is it that some people have no feeling of remorse or sadness? We will examine the Criminal Mind and source evidence that might explain why criminals do the things they do.

More than twenty years ago Congress set up the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration within the Department of Justice, in an all-out effort to reduce crime and violence.
Funding was provided to build more jails, to obtain more police and police cars, to increase street lighting, to help the disadvantaged, etc. After a few years and hundreds of millions of dollars, funding was stopped; the effort was a failure, and crime and violence continued to escalate.

The latest neuroscience research is presenting intriguing evidence that the brains of certain kinds of criminals are different from those of the rest of the population.

While these findings could improve our understanding of criminal behavior, they also raise moral quandaries about whether and how society should use this knowledge to combat crime.
